I want to Remember

I want to remember the way all of the kids run to Big Daddy when he walks in the door yelling "Daddy, Daddy" hugging his legs, big smiles all around.  And Benny arms spread out wide yells "Happy Birthday!" even though it isn't anyone's birthday.

I want to remember this feeling of all day sickness, this blah, being thirsty but not able to drink enough water, feeling sick but not enough to get sick, feeling hungry but not for anything in particular.  So I can have some perspective later on when I'm feeling better.

I want to remember Rayzor's texts home from school: On way home.  Me: Yay!! See you soon.  Love you.  Rayzor: K love you

I want to remember Joz's face when she walks in from CCD.  Always a fun time because she's with her friends, and she remembers something funny and smiles and laughs and I ask her what? And she tells me her best friend farted in the middle of class and we all laugh because that is something her best friend would do.

I want to remember how B-Rad so lovingly takes care of Baby Finny like he is her own little baby doll.    How she wants to always help and loves to help at this age.  I know in just a few short years it will be different.

I want to remember how Ev asks Seany while they are watching Baby Story, how does the baby come out? And Seany states how the baby comes out of the mom's butt.  And I don't say otherwise because they are only 5 and almost 7.

I want to remember Ev at soccer practice.  Always a smile on his face, listening to his coach, trying to do his best.  He is getting to be such a big boy.

I want to remember Bennett walking out of his room and we ask him what he's doing? and how he says he's reading a book, it's so hard.  And he says it so sadly.  And I laugh because it must be hard to read a book when you don't know how to read.

I want to remember how crazy MC's hair is.  And coupled with her crazy smile and eyes and she really does look crazy.  And I laugh with tears in my eyes.  And I say to Ryan look at her because she is smelling her feet and she makes us laugh.

And I want to remember how Baby Finny mimics us so well.  Hi we say to him and he makes a sound like "hi".  When we change his diaper and say all done and he makes a sound like "all done". Or "no no" or "mama" or "dada".  And then he will clap and wrinkle his nose.

What do you want to remember?

I love this post, Amy. I'm smiling too :)

I want to remember Lil' Lamb climbing over the top of me in the wee hours signing "nurse" and even though it's too dark for me to see his sign, I know he's signing it.

Have a lovely day!

Love it! I want to remember how J signs to the Christian radio station when no one is in the room and his sheepish smile of embarassment when you walk in the room and "catch him." I want to remember how K talked grandma's ear off this morning and continually told her how he hoped she sould come stay at our house longer. He loves her so! And I want to remember how A slid out of bed this morning (literally!)- I love how he wakes up!
